Some of the eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed that Council decided at its last meeting to cease printing and posting our Newsletter, with the April 2012 issue being the last.
I know that I speak for all of the British Go community in saying how shocked and horrified we all were to learn of the untimely death of Xinyi Lu in October whilst on holiday in China.
At the time of his death, Xinyi had attained an unassailable position at the head of division 2 in the first full season of the Online Individual League, having had a 100% record of wins in all of his games.
We've created a number of display panels, following up Tony Atkins excellent production of some at A3 size on display at Leicester, having seen what the French did at the European Go Congress.
These are designed to be useable for external events and exhibitions and are downloadable from our website.
We have created a number of panels that you might find useable at exhibitions and external events when the general public is passing by.
The idea is based on the French Go Federation display at the European Go Congress in 2011 and Tony Atkins subsequently produced boards.

As a result of a posting on Life19x19 we've created a page to help people new to face-to-face tournament play to know what to expect.

Do let the organisers know that you're planning to attend. It helps with their planning and they can enter you into the computer system doing the draw beforehand, to shorten the time it takes at registration.

All games relayed live on KGS from 10:00.
Based on the European rating data up to 1st April 2011.
This page only checks the rating part of the qualification conditions. It is unable to check the ‘played in all rounds’ rule and the nationality and BGA membership rules. Manual confirmation is needed that you have qualified.
Our most pressing requirement is for people to help with a number of activities in our Youth Development area, helping Paul Smith.
