A strong players' training weekend will be held from November 16th-18th in Barford, Warwickshire. As in previous years, Guo Juan (5 dan professional) will be teaching. The weekend will consist of a mixture of games, lectures and reviews, with a maximum group size of 14.
The purpose of strong players' training is to increase the number of British players with ratings of 4 dan and above. As such, the weekend will be very intensive, and participants will be expected to do some preparatory study beforehand (exercises will be assigned).
The total cost will be £55. This includes accommodation (probably a sleeping bag option), as well as all meals (from Friday evening until Sunday evening).
This event is open to all BGA members with an EGF rating of at least 2100 (or equivalent, such as KGS 2 dan). If you are not currently a BGA member, you can join in advance at http://britgo.org/join – the current rate is £24 for annual membership, or £15 for concessions. If your rating is slightly below 2100, but you are improving rapidly, you may be allowed to attend if there is space.
