Belfast Go Tournament 2007

The tournament will take place in Belfast on Saturday the 13th of October in the Performing Arts Studio (Gym) of the Crescent Arts Centre [1], 2-4 University Road, Belfast BT7 1NH [2]. Parking in the vicinity is not usually a problem. The Europa Bus Station (Glengall Street) and Belfast Central (Rail) Station (East Bridge Street) are within walking distance. The Crescent Arts Centre is located in the heart of the University Quarter, there are plenty of places around to eat and drink.

For a variety of reasons we ask you to pre-register,

The Performing Arts Studio only has a capacity for around 30 players.
We need to ensure we have enough equipment for all the games.

We would really hate for anyone to be unlucky enough to turn up, only for us to have to tell them there is no room left.

The tournament will be a 4 round McMahon.
We will be using Japanese Rules, 6 points komi, and full handicap beneath the bar.
Time limits will be 30 minutes for each player, Sudden Death.
Entry will be £6 or euro 10. Half price for all the usual discount groups.
Catalin Taranu, 5 dan professional, will be present at the tournament, teaching. In return for a small contribution, players make take a bye during one round and play a teaching game with Catalin.
