The Gilchrist Postgraduate Club
The tournament will consist of 6 rounds played over two days. It will be run on the McMahon system. Komi will be set at 7.5 and the BGA rules will be adopted. There will be 60 minutes of main playing time then an 'accelerating' byo-yomi - 10 stones in 5 mins, increasing to 20/5, 30/5 etc. This will be a Class A event. Single-day players are also welcome.
In addition there will be an informal get together/lightning event on the Friday evening at the venue for those already in town.
The Gilchrist Postgraduate Club is a 10 minute walk from the Hillhead subway station. If you are coming from the Hillhead underground station, exit to the left onto Byres Road and continue down the road until you get to University Avenue. Turn left and walk up the road for a few hundred metres. At the main gate to the university on the right, enter through the gate and enter the main building directly in front of you. The Gilchrist is on the ground floor to your left.
