North London Go Club

This is the home page of the North London Go Club. We meet to play and discuss the game of Go, the ancient board game from the Far East known also as weiqi (Chinese) or baduk (in Korean).

We meet regularly on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 pm in the Gregory Room, back of Parish Church, Church Row, Hampstead NW3 6UU. Attendance varies between 5 and 15. Players range from complete beginners up to 3 dan in strength. All with an interest in Go are very welcome to come, without the slightest obligation. Learn the game from us, or try your ability against an experienced player.

Finding the club: The nearest tube station is Hampstead (Northern Line) (5 minute walk). The club is on Church Row. When you see the Church which in the dark can be quite daunting, go to the right hand side and behind the church to the left are a few rooms. Ours is the second door. You need to knock on the door to gain entry. You will be rewarded by tea and coffee and hopefully an opponent of your standard. Just as a piece of information the church is also home to site of burial of John Constable the famous artist.

To find out more about the club contact:

North London Go Club is affiliated with the British Go Association. Go equipment and books may be obtained by mail order from Gerry Mills at BGA Books Ltd. He does a great job and normally delivers quicker than it takes me to visit the local bookshop.

Other Go clubs in London are the Central London Go Club and the Wanstead Club. See national map and classified listings for more information.
