Tournament Details

1. British Lightning

This will be on the evening of Friday 8th. The exact format will depend on the entry numbers, but will probably consist of 3-4 matches followed by a semi-final and final. Time Limits will be 12 minutes sudden death.

2. British Open

This will be a 6-round McMahon Tournament with 3 games on each of the Saturday and Sunday. Time Limits: Fischer Time of 45 minutes (basic) plus 15 seconds/move. This makes it a class 'A' event for EGD ratings.

Prizes will be given for 5 and 6 wins, and best performance by a Junior (TD's decision is final). There may also be other surprise categories depending on numbers.

There are two places to stay actually on the campus. Note - as of March 2nd I have been notified that the Standard rooms at Lancaster House may have all gone
Both are available for booking through the usual online room booking sites. The Reception for the Guest Rooms is not manned on weekends, but University Security perform check-in to get you into your room. More options are available in Lancaster itself, including a Premier Inn on the North side of the town. Please note though that the campus is roughly one hour’s walk or ten minutes drive south from Lancaster itself. There are several buses that operate to the campus BUS DETAILS - but please be aware we will be outside of term time, and services on Sunday may well be more limited. Taxi ranks are available at both Lancaster Bus and Rail stations.

Food and Drink

Food and drinks are available from various outlets on the campus. As it is a weekend outside term-time they may not all be open. Some information can be found HERE.
