Michael Cheung wrote: I played black against Viktor Lin 6D on Saturday. I started with a cosmic style strategy, and Viktor played invasion at move 18 directly. In move 28, Viktor decided to play a tenuki, asking how I'm going to attack his weak group. I responded with black 29 peep, which I think is a key point of eye shape. Viktor did not want to risk the game so early, so he played tenuki once again, forcing me to spend one more move to capture his group. As a result, black gained a solid and big territory, while white has a fast paced two wing structure. Then I played 33 shoulder hit, he responded with an aggressive 34 cap. 35 knight move is a move that I'm proud of, it focuses on the centre, which I believe has more value than the edge. It also prevented white from getting a solid edge, providing an opportunity for me to invade in the future. In move 54, Viktor has made his first mistake. He put too much focus on my weaknesses, neglecting his own weak group. When the game continued, I started to attack his weak group at move 79. The game entered an interesting stage, because both of us have a weak group, but our shapes are quite flexible. We began a ko fight. During the ko fight, we made some exchanges again. This time, it was me who made a wrong choice, as the exchange made white become more solid on the edge and the black weak group was captured automatically. After the gain, Ai suggested at white 116 to give up the ko fight and white could then get a life shape in sente. However, Viktor played a losing move at 116; it was a false ko threat and black captured a big group with limited cost. The game continues and, when we both enter byo yomi, luckily black’s advantage is quite obvious; my task to complete the game was not very difficult and I successfully secured a win.

Bruno Poltronieri wrote: I won my game against Martin Krenn by resignation. I had a slight lead after the opening. Black then started an unreasonable fight. I played a bit slack and he could have made it even again, but he let me capture three stones and the game was comfortable from then. I eventually cut off a large group and made it ko for its life, so my opponent resigned.

Jake Game wrote: Tonight it seemed I may have gotten lucky with the black pieces against against Moritz Hable. I am not entirely sure if my opponent had winning chances or not, but was a fun and complicated game which ended with him resigning. Certainly both sides have much to take away.

Edmund Smith won a long game by 19.5 against Patrick Oberlohr, that featured a lot of ko fighting.
