TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Congratulations go to Alvina Kwok, who came second with 5/6 at the Welsh Open on May 30 - 31, and to Ryan Zhang, who was fourth with 3/6. Also Joshua Fai won a prize for winning 3/6. Alvina is shown here on the right having received her prize.
FORTHCOMING YOUTH TOURNAMENTS
Wednesday 24 June: Cambridge Youth tournament at St Marys School, Cambridge. At the end of April they had 25 entries (which we think is good two months ahead of the event!) including quite a few beginners. Details here
Saturday 26 September: Also in Cambridge is a children's Go tournament from 13:00 to 17:00 at Milton Community Centre, Cambridge. This will be the UK Go Challenge Finals, but is open to all regardless of whether you have played a Challenge heat or not. Games will be played on 13x13 boards.
Saturday 7 November: British Youth Go Championships at Lady Bay Church Hall, Pierrepoint Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 5BP from 10:00–17:00. Titles in six age groups and other prizes.
The above tournaments are for for those under 18 only; you are, however, welcome to enter any Go tournament listed on the BGA Tournament Calendar.
TEACHING/TRAINING
The next "Double-digit kyu" teaching will not now be until a Sunday in September, at 14:30. If you are 10 kyu or weaker and wish to attend, please email youth-chair@britgo.org before the day.
On Wednesday 29 July and Wednesday 12 August we will have two full days of Go for children during the school holidays. These will be at Milton Community Centre in Cambridge, from 08:30 to 17:30 although children don't have to come for the whole day. As usual we will have a mixture of Go playing, teaching and puzzles with lots of breaks and some other games and puzzles too, if the weather is nice we will have lunch in the park. Contact Paul Smith paul361smith AT mail DOT com for details.
