Tournament Levy Rates from 2026

At the May 2025 AGM, the following update to the Tournament Levy was approved. The bolded parts in red represent increases to the current levy rates, while the italicised parts in blue represent reductions. The remaining text reflect current levy rates.

With effect for tournaments starting on or after January 1st 2026, the BGA levy charges will apply to face to face events submitted to the EGD at the following rates:

• £1.50 for a BGA Member / £6.50 for a non-BGA member
• Members of another national Go association will be treated as if they are BGA members
• No charge for players in their first ever Go tournament
• No charge for U18s
• No reduction for students, or other concessions
• Any event for which the BGA does not provide the equipment will have a 50% reduction applied to the calculated total

There will be no charge for unrated events not submitted to the EGD, which currently includes 13x13 or smaller board events.

BGA tournaments will be subject to the same levy as other tournaments.
