European Youth Team League (Trial Edition) 2021
Marc Rieger from Germany is setting up a European Youth Team League for town teams.
The prototype event is just involving German and UK teams as is being played as a knock out.
Games are being played on OGS with teams of three.
Games are 13x13 and the players play twice - once on even and once with the "Cambridge Handicaps".
Time limits 10 minutes + 3 x 30 seconds.
On 14th February a qualification round saw Düsseldorf beat Cheadle Hulme B 5-1.
The quarter final stage started the event proper from 13th March.
The final of London vs. Frankfurt was on Saturday 15th May at 14:00 (UK time).

UK-China Youth League 2021
Starting in mid-March, though to July, a league was being played containing 7 young UK players and 7 players from the Chinese team we played against in the China Match 2020, 李昂奕道 "Li Ang Yi Dao", organised by Go teacher Li Ang.
The games were played on KGS in the British Room and were 1 hour + 5 x 1 minute, with Chinese rules.
Normally games were at 10:00 UK time on Saturday, but some games were at 10:00 or 11:00 on Sunday.

Junior Match Against Hong Kong 2020
On 7th November we started a match on KGS between fifteen British youth players and a team of fifteen Chinese children from Hong Kong, under Liana Ao 4p. This carried on for several weeks with one or two games each weekend. The format was that of last team standing, like the former China-Japan Supergo Matches, with the winner of each game staying on. The games were played online in the KGS British Room, with Chinese Rules with 30 minutes main time + 3 x 30 seconds byoyomi and komi is 7.5 points. The British team was selected from our list of young players, taking those who are currently active, settled in the UK and who replied to the invitation.

On 7th June we started a match on KGS between twelve British youth players and a team of twelve Chinese children, "The Li Ang Go Collection Team", organised by Go teacher Li Ang in China. This will carry on for several weeks with one or two games each weekend. The format is that of last team standing, like the former China-Japan Supergo Matches, with the winner of each game staying on. The games are played online in the British Room, with Chinese Rules and initially 40 minutes basic time, but later changed to 60 minutes plus byoyomi. The British team was selected from our list of young players, taking those who are currently active, settled in the UK and who replied to the invitation.
